We specialize in detailed and timely timberland appraisals. We utilize our extensive knowledge of world timber markets, the economics of timber production, and the economic impact of various silviculture prescriptions, as well as our extensive experience with appraisal methods to complete the appraisal assignments for our clients. The company appraises 2-3 million acres of timberland each year.
Our clients range from some of the largest timberland holders in North America, to various small private woodland owners in the Northwest, as well as various corporations and government agencies in the United States, New Zealand, Chile, Australia, Canada, and Asia.
Our detailed analytical approach to appraisal utilizes comprehensive use of forest inventory data and modeling. The state of the art use of biometric modeling and harvest forecasting using the Remsoft model Woodstock to create sophisticated income models. The use of detailed income models, comprehensive comparable sales databases, and first hand knowledge of sales and properties provides the appraiser unique insight into the valuation process.
All of our appraisals meet USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) requirements. Our reports utilize complex graphics and visually informative presentations allowing the client to understand the unique aspects of the property. The appraisal reports and data are easily transferred to the client using state of the art web and publishing applications.
We hold licenses to perform appraisals in the states of Oregon and Washington and have obtained temporary licenses in numerous other States. Mr. La Mont is a Certified General Appraiser, as well as an Associate Member of the Appraisal Institute, Candidate Member of the American Society of Appraisers and member of the Oregon Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. Our clients have come to depend upon our experience and credentials.
